How to Post

Hey guys, I know that you are having a hard time of posting, so here's how.. You actually can't directly post a post, but what you can do is comment and comment on others comments.

  1. In the cartoon, Olive Oyl is portrayed as love mongering, bachelor hating, politicaaly inept woman, whos only concern was to get women married, or be happy with several men. Even though she wants to make women the equal of men, which was not belived at the time, she was making a fool of herself, with her policy. While in TKAM the women like Aunt Alexandra and Miss Maudie are intelligent, respected by their peers and men, and think of things other than being romantically involved with men. Scout saysd that aunt alexandra eventually was able to advise most of the town on descisions which means she was highly influential, and not a fool like Olive Oyl. In the cartoon, women are portrayed as breeding cows, or lonely and week, while in the novel, women's input is valuable advice, and is sought most of the time.

  2. Why did the United States have such a degrading view of women from the 50's-70's, while in TKAM which is set in the 30's, women are viewed more highly and with respect/
